Hello! I’ve readed most of the questions and I simply love your blog, it’s very useful and amusing (:
My question is, did korean guys (or korean society) judge you if you have tattoos (being a girl)? I mean, not only one tattoo but a lot. I love tattoos and I’m planning on getting a lot more than I already have, and they are in very visibles parts of my body (like collarbones, for example) I’m worried because I don’t know if this makes me looks like a “gang girl” in korea, and I don’t know if this limits my oportunities to find a job or meeting guys over there.
Thank you!-
Hello,
It makes us so excited that what we write is not totally useless :)
This question hasn’t been asked before and seems really interesting so we will try and write a whole post about it.

Firstly, what a cute site and couple! Thank you for helping those that are interested in Korean dating, culture, or just Korea in general.
My question, mainly to KimchiMan, is… how does KimchiMan and his Korean friends, both male and female, feel about homosexuality in Korea? Is it even talked about at all? What about comparing the older Korean generation and the younger Korean generation and their feelings on homosexuality?
Also, do you think you’ll post clearer photos of yourselves one day?
Thank you so much!
PS Your English is just about perfect – I was surprised to hear that it is your second language!
-
Wow, thank you! I can’t believe people think my English is so good. I sometimes cringe when I read what I wrote in haste :)
I talked to Kimchi Man about homosexuality and he’s totally cool about it, but I will let him answer in more details about him and his friends in a post. Just please be patient, he’s going to be very busy for the next month and we have a few other questions waiting in the queue. But we promise we’ll do it as soon as possible. We know how annoying it is to wait.

Thank you for the response! I look forward to seeing his answer – I will wait for it!

hi can you give advice? i met this korean guy last time i was in korea.. we met thru an app. and we decided to meet when i went there.. hit it off.. he can speak english and really nice.. when i had to change my hotel somewhere near the airport he helped me with my stuff and we had lunch and dinner together,,we even stayed together for a night but nothing happened.. we just hang out and rested.. and he even went with me to the airport.. i think its sweet. but when i came back to my country he is not that sweet sometimes i think he is cold towards me,but sometimes he sings to me.. we talk everyday.. and he is the one always texts first.. we even have fights.. but im still thinking is it possible that he likes me.. or korean men are just like this.. he told me he had a relationship before he didnt like.. and the girl was the one who chased after him,. what if i was like that girl.. maybe he thinks im too clingy.. which i dont think i am cause i wait for him always i dont nag or something.. im scared that he might reject me or something.. i dnt know what to do.. should i be patient? but its been 4 months… or maybe i should stop this,,

I’m not really sure what your situation is, but I think you should relax. I know it’s easier said than done, but you can’t change who you are, and if he thinks you are too clingy than you will just have to deal with hurt feelings later on.
Rarely any couple is always on the same page, especially in a long distance relationsip. Same happens with Kimchi Man and me. There is always someone who is more busy at the moment, or more lonely at the moment, or having more fun at the moment… But that doesn’t mean the love is not there.
Your instinct about him could be right, but also maybe he’s just not good at expressing his feelings at long distance as he was when you were together.

Hello Oegukeen and Kimchi Man!
I have a question I hope you can answer. I met a kind and funny Korean man on a penpal website, and have been talking to him for 2 or 3 months. I have a large crush on him, but I don’t know if he feels the same way, and I am afraid to ask for fear of rejection. Even if he doesn’t like me like that, I still want to remain friends. I am having trouble figuring out if he likes me, and I obviously should just ask him but like I said I am afraid. He tells me about his daily life and his plans, asks and listens to mine, tells me jokes and makes me laugh, calls me on skype (I met his brother through skype hahah), and even tries to teach me Korean. He has asked me for may facebook profile and my KakaoTalk account, but we don’t talk every day. He usually initiates the conversation, and seems happy to talk to me. We have even briefly talked about meeting next year. I am telling you this to receive some insight. There is some part of me that thinks he may just want to practice his English with me, and that’s all, so I’d like to have an outside perspective. Does he seem like just a normal friend and am I looking too much into this, or should I just be upfront and tell him I have a crush like you did Oegukeen? Thank you in advance, I really appreciate it.
I also love your blog and wish you both all the best! :)-
Hello,
Well, if you have absolutely no idea if he likes you back, maybe that’s a sign that it’s too early to go all out and confess. Why don’t you instead make small gestures to show him you have a good opinion of him and see how he reacts?

That was really kind of you. :)
Well, i truly agree that talking with him would be the best solution. But whenever we tried to talk about it, things get so complicated. I remember the last time we talked, he told me that i should just stay with him, think of nothing else, because he don’t want to lose me. He told me he felt guilty because of his girlfriend which i truly understand. I really feel so bad with everything that is happening too. I also asked him one night, about what he really feels and what his i love you’s really meant, he told me he really loves me and he said he was sorry because he’s making things confusing for me and because he has a girlfriend. After that, we didn’t talked about it again. I find it hard to start a conversation regarding our real status, how could i approach him without looking like i was asking for him to break up with his gf? I really don’t want that to happen, well, i respect their relationship so much. What i really want is just to know if he is really serious and if i should wait for him. He’s really confusing me.
By the way, thank you so much! :) i hope we can be friends~ it was nice meeting you!-
I would also like to be friends with you and discuss this matter properly :)

Maybe i can add you somewhere more private? :) i really need help though. We talked about it, but things didn’t cleared up. ㅜㅜ

Same story? Really? Well, he’s living in Korea now. :)
-
Oh, ok. False alarm. There’s another korean guy I know who lives somewhere else but also has a girlfriend he is having problems with.
Anyway, I’d also like to help with your problem. :) From my point of view, I think the best solution is to talk about this with him. Asking him directly what he feels about you, thats’ what I would do if I were you.You got nothing to lose anyway.
Hope this helped :)
